Norris claims the right to race. McLaren claims the right to say no
The stewards took no action over Lando Norris's last-lap sprint collision with teammate Oscar Piastri, but McLaren did: Andrea Stella called it unacceptable and Zak Brown banned a repeat, while Norris told the press he had the right to go for the gap.1

Hamilton takes the blame. Vasseur lets him
Lewis Hamilton apologised for staying out under the VSC, and Fred Vasseur agreed it was his fault, saying Ferrari's call was crystal clear, though it never reached the broadcast and Hamilton's account came only through a Ferrari press release.2

A week after the Sepang software bug, the FIA admitted that a human error in race control left overtake mode switched off for most of the restarted first part of Singapore sprint qualifying.3
Mercedes finds a quicker car. It's the old one
Running the old spec, George Russell qualified second for the Singapore sprint, five places ahead of Kimi Antonelli on the new one, Peter Windsor reports.4
Who's Beefin'
Lando Norris vs Oscar Piastri
Heat: 4/5
Norris put his own teammate in the barriers on the last lap of the sprint, then apologised over the radio. Brian of The Red Flags Podcast called it the "shortest heel turn i've ever seen". Missed Apex couldn't agree on the blame: one host put it at 70-30 against Norris, and Spanners put Piastri's share at zero percent.5
Fred Vasseur vs The Race
Heat: 3/5
Scott Mitchell-Malm says Fred Vasseur "got a bit upset about the questioning" when The Race asked why Hamilton wasn't pitted. Told they hadn't heard the radio call, Vasseur replied: "I'm sorry for you, you didn't hear it." Ferrari's strategy came under attack in 13 other videos this week. Ferrari didn't hear those either.6
The Hard Compound
Windsor's allocation this week: hards on Ferrari, mediums on how complicated F1 has become, softs on wet tyres.7
Ferrari. On Cameron Cc's channel, Windsor asked the question directly: "Why are they so rubbish all the bloody time? The ineptitudes and multitudinous at this juncture?" He answered it on his own channel and twice more on Cameron Cc's. Ferrari used a new set of softs on Lewis Hamilton in Q1 and had none left for the start. "The damage was done on the Saturday. The damage was done in Q1 on Saturday. And that was the problem." The rest of the paddock spent the week arguing about a pit call on Sunday. Windsor had the race settled by Saturday.8
Complication. On his own livestream before Singapore, Windsor said the rules are "too complicated for the FIA, for the teams, for everybody, for the fans, especially." On Cameron Cc's channel he narrowed it down to three things: "Too many people, too much information, too much money." He also objected to the word upgrade: "In the old days, they were just called developments." Guest shouter TacticalRab had a simpler fix on his own channel: "you whack me a V8 Turbo or a V8 naturally aspirated or whatever, like, you don't have any of this bollocks necessarily, right?"9
Wet tyres. On Cameron Cc's channel, after F1 delayed the sprint for rain, Windsor said: "Why did Pirelli bring wet tyres for us to never, ever use wet tyres? It is nonsense." In the same video, his review of the race they had waited for was "Boring AF. Processional, almost." He then moved on to George Russell.10
Crofty reached us through FP1Will. In sprint qualifying he said he rather fancied Sergio Pérez's chances. Thirty seconds later Pérez left his mark on Marina Bay, "rather literally", and the red flag that followed is where the FIA forgot to switch overtake mode back on.11
